Hydrant flushing in Saranac Lake this week

July 27, 2013
Adirondack Daily Enterprise

SARANAC LAKE - The village Department of Public Works will flush fire hydrants Monday through Wednesday.

Hydrant flushing will occur in the River Street and LaPan Highway corridor, moving south into the Lake Street, Riverside Drive, North Country Community College and Turtle Pond areas. Flushing will take place between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Residents will experience yellowish to brownish water after flushing and are asked to run their water for 10 to 15 minutes to clear out their water service lines. The village also suggests that you initially run your water after flushing from an outside hose to avoid faucet screens being plugged.

If you experience any other problems, you can call the DPW garage at 518-891-4160.
