SARANAC LAKE - A Gabriels woman suffered minor injuries in a one-car crash Thursday night on state Route 3 just west of Saranac Lake.

Ray Brook-based state police said Alyssa Fredericks, 21, was traveling west in a 2003 Ford Focus around 11 p.m. when she reportedly swerved to avoid a deer crossing the road. Fredericks overcorrected, causing the car to go back into her lane, strike guardrails and go down an embankment.

Fredericks suffered minor abrasions and was treated on scene. She was later ticketed for failure to keep right.

Saranac Lake firefighters responded to the scene at 11:03 p.m. with 10 members and one truck. They provided traffic control at the scene, returning to the fire station at 11:47 p.m.
