TUPPER LAKE - Village resident Charles Dukett was indicted by a Franklin County grand jury on burglary, mischief and assault charges.

Dukett, 42, was arraigned Monday and pleaded not guilty to second-degree burglary, a felony, and two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief plus one count of third-degree assault, all misdemeanors.

Tupper Lake-based state police arrested Dukett on March 5 after he allegedly kicked in the door of Dennis Torres' Mill Street home and knocked a phone out of Torres' hand. A fight ensued before Torres was able to call for help.

Dukett was arraigned before county court Judge Robert G. Main Jr. He was released from county jail on $1,500 cash bail and is scheduled to reappear for a pre-trial conference July 25.
