SARANAC LAKE - The Saranac Lake SkatePark Committee is inviting local kids to weigh in on the design for the proposed skateboard park.

Brad Siedlecki of Pillar Design Studios, who will design the village's skatepark, will be in Saranac Lake on Wednesday. He's scheduled to meet with village Department of Public Works Superintendent Jeff Dora at 3:15 p.m. at the site of the proposed skatepark in the village parking lot behind Community Bank. They'll discuss how to handle drainage issues, according to SkatePark Committee member Rich Shapiro.

Around 3:30 p.m., also at the skatepark site, Siedlecki will meet with local skateboarders to get their input on the features they'd like to see in the facility. Siedlecki has provided three conceptual designs for the skatepark, all of which are posted on the group's Facebook page, www.facebook.com/pages/Saranac-Lake-Skateboard-Park/394764223927339?fref=ts.

If it rains, the meeting with the kids will be moved inside to the Saranac Lake Youth Center at the corner of Woodruff and Church streets.
