ALBANY - Museum Week is next week in New York.
From Monday to Sunday, June 10 to 16, museums throughout the state will offer special discounts, events, exhibits and promotions to encourage people to visit.
The I Love NY website, www.iloveny.com, features complete lists of participating museums and their discounts and events.
State Sen. Betty Little, whose district includes the eastern part of the North Country, talks with Gavin Landry, the state’s executive director of tourism, after a committee meeting in Albany on Wednesday. Little chairs the Senate Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks and Recreation Committee, and topics discussed Wednesday included Museum Week, which runs from June 10 to 16.

That includes an "Adirondacks" section with 16 museums in and around the Adirondack Park. Among those are four in the Tri-Lakes area: the Lake Placid Olympic Museum, the Lake Placid-North Elba Historical Society, the Saranac Laboratory Museum in Saranac Lake and The Wild Center in Tupper Lake.
