June 6, 2013
Adirondack Daily Enterprise

SARANAC LAKE - Hand bells aren't just for Christmas. The High Peaks Ringers, a five-octave hand bell choir will present a concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 13 at the Adirondack Community Church in Lake Placid.

The group will perform a variety of sacred and secular works that demonstrate the versatility of the instruments. The ringers will perform tunes that range from the hauntingly beautiful arrangement of the hymn "How Deep the Father's Love for Us", to the clever combination of the spirituals "Shall We Gather at the River" and "Peace Like a River", to two contemporary versions of Cold Play tunes; "Clocks" and "Viva La Vida." Admission is free, although donations will be accepted, and all are welcome to the concert.
