LAKE GEORGE (AP) - Authorities say a 35-year-old Oklahoma woman has died after she collided with a truck while driving her car the wrong way on an eastern New York highway.

State police say Amy Sue Brewster of Mustang, Okla., was driving south in the northbound lanes of Interstate 87 around 1 a.m. today when she collided head-on with a box truck near Exit 22 in the Warren County village of Lake George, in the Adirondacks.

Troopers say Brewster's car was completely demolished. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers say Brewster was in the Adirondacks to visit family.

The truck driver wasn't injured.

The highway, also known as the Adirondack Northway, was closed to northbound traffic until around 8:30 a.m. It's the main highway between Albany and Montreal.
