National Guard, 1950, Saranac Lake

Robert Ohmann of Saranac Lake suggested that the Enterprise publish this photo in honor of Memorial Day, showing the 3rd Battallion, 105th Infantry, 27th Infantry Division of the New York National Guard posing in 1950 outside the old Saranac Lake armory. This was around the time of the start of the Korean War, for which Ohmann said the Saranac Lake group was given a 90-day notice to mobilize — but the war ended before that time period was up.
