Thanks to the St. Armand committee members

Adirondack Daily Enterprise

To the editor:

On Thursday, May 9, 2013 the town of St. Armand held a special board meeting to review the recommendations of the highway committee regarding the construction of a new highway garage.

The committee members included Ollie Burgess, Chuck Bruce, Sheridan Swinyer and Paul Aery. Tug Duffy was also originally on this committee but he chose to remove himself to prevent a future conflict of interest as he may be bidding on the garage project in the future. The committee members were chosen due to their knowledge of construction and their concern for the Town of St. Armand. This committee received no financial compensation for their time spent researching and developing their recommendations for the highway garage.

During the special board meeting, Ollie Burgess presented the committee's findings to the board. Due to their diligence and hard work, we were able to proceed forward with the planning phase of the project. Ollie, Bruce, Sheridan and Paul went above and beyond our expectations. They took the time to visit more than 15 area buildings and interviewed countless people to ascertain the best possible building for the town of St. Armand highway garage.

On behalf of the town board, St. Armand employees and the citizens of St. Armand, we would like to thank them for their dedication and commitment to this project.

Best Regards,

Charles Whitson, Jr.

Town Supervisor
