To the editor:
I would like to encourage voters in the Saranac Lake Central School District to support Tracey Schrader in the upcoming school board election.
During her last term on the school board, Tracey not only gained valuable experience in the workings of the school district, she also demonstrated attributes for which she is already well known in the community: her dedication, volunteerism, honesty, reliability and passion for the educational well-being of our kids. Her reasonable approach to decision-making is based on careful consideration of the facts combined with compassion; that is, taking into account the real effects that those decisions will have on the lives of real people in her community, especially our students. Tracey also served on the Safety Committee, whose members valued and appreciated her understanding of matters pertaining to buildings and grounds, thanks to her experience as co-owner of Schrader General Contracting.
For as long as I have known her, Tracey has given generously of her time, energy and talent to our schools as well as the larger community. Even before she was elected to the school board the first time, she was present in the schools almost daily as a parent volunteer, chaperone, and assistant in the classroom, not to mention her tireless leadership in major initiatives such as the construction of a brand new playground at Petrova Elementary School several years ago. She has given tremendous time and energy to numerous committees, parent-teacher organizations, fundraising campaigns, and special school events such as the annual Halloween Haunted House, the Petrova Winter Carnival, and Teacher Appreciation luncheons, among many others.
Tracey is running again because of her continued dedication to community service, and in particular her commitment to making sure our kids receive a high quality education. This time she also brings her experience as a past board member. If elected to the school board once again, Tracey will deliver the goods! Please vote for Tracey Schrader on election day.
