Little people with big hearts

May 1, 2013
Adirondack Daily Enterprise
Katie Villani, Natalie Tavares, Madison Kostoss and Kaiya Belisle host a lemonade donation stand in front of The Adirondack Kid Company Store in Lake Placid. The four fourth graders raised $170 for the Martin Richard Foundation. Martin Richard was the 8-year-old who lost his life in the Boston Marathon terrorist explosion. His sister lost her leg and their mother has a brain injury. The family had been awaiting their father crossing the finish line and celebrating his accomplishment. Villani’s mother owns the toy store where they plan on doing many donation stands throughout the summer. Kostoss’ mother, Holly Kostoss, owner of the River Rock Salon on Saranac Avenue, has matched their donation to the fund. A total of $340 was donated for this fund. Villani, Tavares and Kostoss are fourth-graders at the Lake Placid Elementary School. Belisle is a fourth-grader at the Keene Valley Central School.
