LAKE PLACID - Nina Armstrong won the 3,000 and the 1,500 on Tuesday to lead the Lake Placid girls track and field team to an 83-43 dual meet victory over Ticonderoga.
The Lake Placid boys fell in their meet against Ticonderoga 113-13.
Armstrong won the 1,500 with a time of 5 minutes, 35 seconds, beating out teammate Elisabeth Ashley, who was second in 6:10. Lake Placid sophomore Sage Miller was third in the race with a 6:21.
Armstrong won the 3,000 in 12:34.
Other winners for Lake Placid were Kendra Manning (100, 13.6), Jillian Goulette (triple jump, 22 feet, 6 inches), Esther Munoz (discus, 53-1) and Lauren Rossi (shot put, 23-10).
The Lake Placid girls swept the relay races.
Nzoni Thompson was the lone winner for Lake Placid in the individual events. Thompson won the long jump with a leap of 16-7.
The Blue Bombers boys also were victorious in the 1,600 relay, turning in a time of 4:32.
Lumberjacks drop two
NORWOOD - The Tupper Lake boys and girls teams fell to Franklin Academy and Norwood-Norfolk Tuesday.
The Tupper Lake girls team fell to Franklin Academy by a score of 195-73. It also lost to Norwood-Norfolk by a score of 194-74.
The Tupper Lake boys team lost to Franklin Academy by a score of 195.99 to 38. It also fell to Norwood-Norfolk 162-45.
Despite the losses, the Tupper Lake girls team had several standout performances.
Tupper Lake's Madi Fortier took first place in the 100 with a time of 13.9 seconds. She also won the 200 in 27.5.
Hannah Klossner won the high jump with a leap of 5 feet.
Sam Ormsby won the triple jump with a leap of 33-10.5. Hannah Klossner took third with a 29.04 and Tess Klossner took fifth with 29-01.5.
Katie Zurek won the shot put with a throw of 32-05. Breanna Trombley took sixth with a 23. Zurek also took first in the girls discuss throw with a toss of 95-09. Klarissa Hoyt took third in 68-03 while Breanna Trombley took sixth with a 62.
The Lumberjack boys also had several strong performances.
Tupper Lake's Cody LaPierre took fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.1. He was followed by teammates Jeremy Roussell (13.4) and Brasen LaVassaur (13.8).
The Tupper Lake team of LaVassaur, Roussell, Daniel Shaheen and LaPierre took second in the the 4x100 relay with a time of 0:50.
Mitchell Harriman took fifth in the 400 with a time of 1:05.
Daniel Shaheen took sixth in the 800 with a time of 2:27.
LaPierre took second in the 200 with a time of 25.7. He was followed by LaVassaur (25.9) and Roussell (26.4).

Lapierre took seventh in the long jump, leaping 14-08. Teammate Mitchell Harriman jumped 12-09 for eighth.
Lumberjack Zachary Boushie took fourth in the shot put with a throw of 31-06. Teammate Brock Madore threw for 26-00.5 to take seventh and Ben North took eighth with a toss of 24-07.
Madore took fifth in the discus with a throw of 95-07. He was followed by teammates Ben North (49-05) and Thomas Barton (48-10).
Saranac Lake 23, Moriah 1
SARANAC LAKE - The Saranac Lake softball team exploded for 23 runs on 21 hits Tuesday on the way to a 23-1 Champlain Valley Athletic Conference victory over Moriah.
Jen McGuoirk and Nicole Viscardo each went 4-for-4, while Megan Moody and Jordy McDougall went 3-for-3 to lead the Red Storm offensively.
Megan Kilroy and Brittany Tschirhart added two hits apiece.
Tschirhart also picked up the pitching win after striking out eight and giving up just four hits over five innings of work.
Plattsburgh 8, Lake Placid 6
PLATTSBURGH - The Plattsburgh softball team scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning Tuesday to secure an 8-6 victory over Lake Placid.
Brooke Reid was the top hitter for the Blue Bombers with a 2-for-4 performance. Payton Barney chipped in with a double.
Cieara Duquette scored three runs to pace the Hornets, who improved to 3-1 with the victory.
The Blue Bombers tied the game at 6-6 with three runs in the top of the sixth, but Plattsburgh responded with two of their own in the bottom of the inning.
Chateaugay 11, Tupper Lake 3
CHATEAUGAY - Jessie Weigand tripled and Lizzie Zurek double to account for two of Tupper Lake's hits in an 11-3 loss to Chateaugay on Tuesday.
Chateaugay pitcher Courtney Boyea kept the Lumberjacks hitless through the first six innings. She struck out 11 for the victory.
Lake Placid 6, Seton Catholic 0
PERU - The Lake Placid golf team opened its season Tuesday with a 6-0 sweep of Seton Catholic in windy conditions at the Barracks Golf Course.
Lake Placid sophomore Kiefer Casler was the low scorer on the day with his round of 45 that included two pars and one birdie. Miles Lussi wasn't far behind with his 47, while Ryan Kane carded a 48.
Pat Kane and Lucas Strack each shot 51 for the Blue Bombers, while Troy Jacques shot 55.
Nic Favreau and David LaFountain shot 53s to lead the way for Seton Catholic.
The Blue Bombers continue their season Monday at Beekmantown.
