Brush fire scorches roadside

April 22, 2013
Adirondack Daily Enterprise
Saranac Lake Fire Chief Brendan Keough, left, looks over part of a 100-foot stretch of the eastern shoulder of state Route 3, near the Saranac Lake Fish and Game Club, that was scorched by a brush fire this morning. A dozen members and three trucks from the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department responded just after 10 a.m. and used 1,000 gallons of water to extinguish the blaze. Firefighters said it may have been caused by a discarded cigarette. They were back at the fire station by 11:05 a.m.
