SARANAC LAKE - Brendan Keough will continue to serve as chief of the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department for another year.

Keough was elected as chief for 2013-14 during the department's annual election of officers Tuesday night, which was conducted by secret ballot. He's held the position since April 2010.

Also elected as officers this year were Andy McGill (first assistant chief), Jim Stinson (second assistant chief), Tim Donaldson (captain), Casey Taylor (first lieutenant), Jeff White (second lieutenant) and Frank Brier (director, two-year term).

"We are very proud of the hard work and dedication required by our members who qualify for these positions," the department wrote in a post on its website. "The safety of our community and the well being of our department depends on their dedication, skill, training, and leadership."
