Adirondack Daily Enterprise

SARANAC LAKE - The Adirondack Artists Guild will hold its 15th annual art competition from March 15 to April 17.

The competition is open to all artists and accepts all media. Artists interested in entering may pick up a prospectus at the gallery at 52 Main St. in Saranac Lake or may download one from the Guild's website, www.adirondackartistsguild.

Two dimensional work must not exceed 34 inches in any direction. Three-dimensional work must be of a reasonable size for a small gallery. Work done in a class or under supervision may not be submitted.

Work should be dropped off at the gallery between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. March 6, 7, 8 or 9. Notification of the juror's decision will be mailed or emailed by March 13.

An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 15 at the gallery. Prizes will be awarded at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

This year's juror will be Bill Crosby, an artrist who exhibits both paintings and photography.

He received his Master of Fine Arts in painting from the University of Michigan. Retired from a 35-year career as a professor at SUNY Plattsburgh, Crosby continues to show his work on a national, regional and local level. His paintings are shown at the Harbor Square Gallery in Rockland, Maine and the Martin Gallery in Charleston, South Carolina, as well as in many public and private collections.
