SARANAC LAKE - A Rockland County man suffered minor injuries after a car wreck here Tuesday afternoon.

Ray Brook-based state police said Robert A. Rissetto Jr., 51, of Stony Point, was driving a blue Ford Focus east on state Route 86 when he "possibly fell asleep," causing the car to exit the south shoulder, strike a tree and come to rest on its side.

The accident happened about halfway between the railroad tracks and Old Ray Brook Road. It was reported to emergency officials at about 1:17 p.m. Tuesday.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Madden's Towing and Recovery, and Rissetto was transported to Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake by a state trooper. He was evaluated and treated for minor injuries, police said.

No tickets had been issued as of this morning.

Firefighters were back in service by 2:25 p.m.
