TUPPER LAKE - Mary E. Malerba, 90, of Tupper Lake, passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Born Aug. 27, 1922, in Tupper Lake, she was the daughter of Samuel and Mary Amoriell. Mary attended local schools and worked at the mill for 10 years. On May 28, 1949, she married Louis Malerba at Holy Name Church. He predeceased her on Aug. 27, 2008. After her marriage, Mrs. Malerba stayed home and raised their two sons, Bobby and Louie. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo. Mrs. Malerba was active in parish activities at Holy Name Church.
She is survived by her son Louis and his wife Kate of Tupper Lake; two granddaughters: Melissa Brown and her husband Matt of Saratoga Springs and Maria Zarro and her husband Matt of Halfmoon; five great-grandchildren; one brother, John, who recently celebrated his 101st birthday; one sister-in-law, Matilda Amoriell; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, son Robert in 2007 and five brothers.
Calling hours are scheduled from 10 to 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at noon at Holy Name Church. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus cemetery in May.
