To the editor:
I had to respond to Mr. Timothy Lacey Jr.'s letter about the Adirondack Carousel. He has the misconception that it's just about the rides, but it's so much more.
Has his family checked out the "Milk and Cookies" Saturdays, which are both educational and fun? Or the carving classes or gingerbread house making during the Christmas season? The carousel hosts numerous events that all add to the experience of children in the community. And best of all, they are low- to no-cost. Not to mention the carousel can host birthday parties. Isn't that a nice children's alternative to a fast-food establishment party? Oh, and the rides are great too!
I hope your family gives the Adirondack Carousel another chance.
