JAY - The Northeastern Retail Lumber Association awarded Terry Warner, retired merchandising manager for Ward Lumber, the 2012 Industry Excellence Award at the Northern New York Lumber Dealers Association's annual meeting in Ogdensburg.
The Award honors an exceptional employee of the Lumber and Building Material Industry who has dedicated their life to the industry and who is recognized with the utmost respect and regard by their peers. Steve Ciccone, regional director, said "The association goes to great lengths to make sure that the unsung heroes of our industry are recognized."
Warner's career spans more than 30 years and began when he started working at Grossman's in Plattsburgh. He worked at Grossman's until joining the Ward Lumber team in 1996, where he worked until his retirement in 2011. Jay Ward, president of Ward Lumber, nominated Terry for the 2012 Industry Excellence Award. Jay said, "It was my pleasure to nominate Terry. He's very well respected in the industry, and brought a wealth of knowledge to Ward Lumber and to the industry. He was very instrumental in the opening of our store in Malone, and has certainly contributed to our overall growth."

The NRLA was founded in 1894 and currently is a 1,150 member association representing lumber and building material associations, including the NNYLDA, and suppliers in New York and the six New England states. The association provides educational, legislative and regulatory reform services to members as well opportunities to network.
