Christmas Fund helped 238 families

January 10, 2013
Adirondack Daily Enterprise

To the editor:

A letter of thanks and some general information for those generous people who donated money and their time to North Elba Community Christmas Fund.

Due to the generosity of so many this year, we were able to provide food baskets, fruit baskets and bagged fruit for a total of 238 families. Approximately 165 children were given snowsuits, boots, hats, mittens, blankets, toys and sleds. Poinsettias were given to many residents at Uihlein.

We would like to thank all who made it possible through donations of money, clothes, toys and food, along with those who delivered food baskets on Dec. 21. Things went very quickly and smoothly under the direction of Britt Pickard and Shannon Porter. We really appreciate all that everyone does to help; if not for you, all of this could not be possible.

Again, thank you,

Denice Fredericks, treasurer
