LAKE PLACID - Ray Brook-based state police and the Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department responded to a three-car motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Old Military Road and John Brown Road at 2:38 p.m. Wednesday. Names and details about the drivers involved weren't immediately available this morning. Police said the driver at fault was stopped at the stop sign on John Brown Road, waiting to turn onto Old Military Road. The operator pulled out onto Old Military and struck a vehicle traveling west. After the initial contact, the first vehicle struck a third vehicle that had stopped on John Brown Road. Police didn't have information about tickets this morning. The Lake Placid Volunteer Ambulance Service transported one person to Adirondack Medical Center in Lake Placid, where they were treated and released for a head injury. The remaining operators and passengers declined treatment, police said. Firefighters conducted traffic control and assisted rescue personnel with assessing patients. Firefighters were back in service by 3:27 p.m.
