Hornets strike early to beat Lake Placid girls

PLATTSBURGH - The Plattsburgh girls basketball team scored 29 points in the first quarter on the way to a 60-25 victory over Lake Placid on Wednesday night.

The Hornets dominated from the opening tip, connecting on 12-of-14 shots in the first quarter while limiting the Blue Bombers to five points.

Chloe Uebrick led Lake Placid in scoring with 13 points.

Plattsburgh's Marle Curle was the game's high scorer with 19 points, supported by teammated Olivia Carlsson who hit for 13.

BOYS BASKETBALL

St. Regis Falls 68, Tupper Lake 36

TUPPER LAKE - The Tupper Lake boys basketball team lost its second game this week with a 68-36 loss to undefeated St. Regis Falls on Wednesday.

The Lumberjacks, who fell to Canton 63-54 on Monday, are now 4-3 overall and 2-2 in league games. St. Regis Falls is 7-0 overall.

Mitch Keniston led Tupper Lake in scoring Wednesday with 10 points.

Caleb Green paced the Saints with a game-high 24 points, followed by Corey LaBounty, Brandon Votra and Louis Goodrow who each had 10 points.
