LAKE PLACID - Roy Benjamin Bova, 74, of Lake Placid, passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh.
Mr. Bova was born July 10, 1938, in Saranac Lake. He was the son of the late Elmer and the late Clara (Shene) Bova.
He had worked for Raeoil Corp. for several years and later for the town of North Elba as night watchman. During this time he was caretaker for St. Eustace Episcopal Church for more than 30 years.
Mr. Bova was a member of the Lake Placid Masonic Lodge No. 834, he was a New York Yankees fan and he enjoyed tinkering in his shop, NASCAR racing and traveling to Daytona Beach, Fla., to watch the Daytona 500.
He is survived by his wife, Ramona (Bombard) Bova of Lake Placid; one daughter, Charlene Brainard and her fiancee David Kujawski and their child Jayden of Old Saybrook, Conn.; one son, Scott Bova of Old Saybrook, Conn.; one brother, Joseph Bova of Lake Placid; and two sisters: Viola Shumway and her husband Charles of Saranac Lake and Joyce Euber and her husband Chris of Vermontville.
He was predeceased by his parents Elmer and Clara (Shene) Bova and four brothers: William "John" Bova, Bernard Bova, James Bova and Ed Bova.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, at the M.B. Clark Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid with a Lake Placid Masonic Lodge No. 834 prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at Adirondack Community Church, 2583 Main St., Lake Placid with the Rev. John Martin officiating. Burial will follow at North Elba Cemetery in Lake Placid.
