SARANAC LAKE - A local woman was rescued from a park on Lake Champlain Friday after she fell and couldn't move for two days.
Sarah LePak, 29, of Saranac Lake, was hiking Wednesday at Point Au Roche state park in Plattsburgh, off state Route 9, when she walked down an embankment off a hiking trail, fell onto some rocks and hurt her leg, rendering her immobile.
Jason Laundry, an emergency medical technician who was part of the team who rescued LePak, told the Enterprise this morning that some other hikers spotted LePak from across the water.
When the rescue crew got to her Friday, she was alert and oriented, Laundry said.
LePak was still in the intensive care unit at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital this morning, but hospital officials didn't have information about her condition.
