St. Petersburg Men’s Ensemble will perform locally Monday

SARANAC LAKE - The United Methodist Church of Saranac Lake will host a concert featuring the St. Petersburg Men's Ensemble from Russia.

The will be performing Russian sacred and secular folk songs. The concert will be held at 7 p.m. Monday in the church sanctuary at 63 Church St. .

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased prior to the concert by contacting the church office 518-891-3473 or at the door. The doors will open at 6 p.m.

Proceeds will benefit the roof restoration project.

The singers, Kiirill Sokolov, Sergey Shapinsky, Andrei Volikov, and Vadim Smanser will perform Dmitri Bortniansky's Choir Concert #32, Mikhail Ippolitov-Ivanov's "Bless the Lord, O My Soul", anonymous "Of the Praises of the Nativity of Christ, " Igor Stravinsky's "The Lord's Prayer," Pyotr Tchaikovsky's " O Gladsome Light," Sergei Rachmaninoff's "Rejoice, O Virgin", Pavel Chesnokov's "Blessed art Thou, O Lord," Rotach-Sokolov's "To Thee We Sing, " Pavel Chesnokov's "God Is With Us," S.I. Taneyev's "Nocturne" and "To Adele," Cesar Cui's "The Waves Have Dozed Off," Anton Arensky's "Night Music," Pyotr Tchaikovsky's "Nightengale," A. Dargomyzhskiy "Van'ka-Tan'ka," and the traditional Volga Boatmen Song "Yo, heave-ho," "I Will Go to the Valley, " "the Evening is Leaving," and "Kalinka."
