November 24, 2012
By HOWARD RILEY , Adirondack Daily Enterprise

News stories filled with local names remain nearly as popular as the police blotter entries which are carried here from time to time. Now from old copies of The Enterprise here are a treasure of names from the pastin excerpts from the original. Most of the newspapers are from September and October, 1944.

This caricature of me was done by Robert Whitney, resident graphics artist for the 1980 Olympic Winter Games. John Musgrave, marketing director for the Games wanted the Enterprise to publish an in-house Olympic newspaper, which never happened; but my friend Mr. Whitney did this drawing, which he said should be part of the newspaper’s logo.
