Paula and Dale Tuthill of Vermontville announce the engagement of their daughter, Karyssa Lyn Tuthill, to Joseph Merrihew, son of Nancy and John Merrihew of Tupper Lake.
Karyssa is a 2007 graduate of Saranac Lake High School and she received her bachelor's degree in English and adolescence education from St. John Fisher College in May 2011. She completed her master's degree in literacy education from SUNY Plattsburgh in July 2012. She currently works as a literacy teacher at Saranac Lake Middle School and as a literacy outreach professional for Mountain Lake PBS.
A 2005 Tupper Lake High School graduate, Joe graduated from SUNY Oswego in May 2009 with his bachelor's degree in technology education. He graduated in December 2010 with his master's degree in technology education. He currently teaches technology and engineering education at Saranac Lake Middle School.
