TUPPER LAKE - Raymond Godin, 68, of Tupper Lake, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Born in Tupper Lake on Nov. 23, 1943, he was the son of Thomas and Hellen (Veivia) Godin. Raymond graduated from Holy Ghost Academy.
He started work at the age of 16 at the Grand Union, and he was also employed at Top's and Shaheen's IGA.
Ray was a member of the Tupper Lake Volunteer Fire Department and was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 640.
He is survived by his three sons: Chad, Roy and his wife Anne-Marie and Scott and his companion Stephanie, all of Quebec, Canada; four grandchildren: Evelyne, David, Allyson and Laurie; two sisters: Theresa LaMare and her husband Lee and Leona Kavanagh, both of Tupper Lake; three brothers: Steve and his companion Mary-Anne of Tupper Lake, David of Baldwinsville and Gerald of Louisiana; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Fred and Ronald.
Calling hours are scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home in Tupper Lake. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at St. Alphonsus Church.
