NCCC goes deep for opener win

SARANAC LAKE - The North Country Community College men's basketball team opened the season in exciting fashion Friday, downing Clinton 100-94 in double overtime.

The Saints outscored Clinton 10-4 in the second extra period to secure the victory.

Ian Henderson drained nine 3-pointers, six in the first half, to rack up a team-high 29 points for North Country. Teammate Steven Carder did much of the work inside with 13 field goals and 28 total points. Brody Douglass chipped in 16 points and Jared Heden hit for 15 to contribute to the balanced North Country offense.

Kyree Hull paced Clinton with 29 points, while teammate Jamie Davison had 25, 18 of which came on 3-pointers.

The teams combined to make 31 3-point shots in the game.
