Debate canceled due to storm

October 29, 2012
Adirondack Daily Enterprise

SARANAC LAKE - The Enterprise and Denton Publications have canceled a debate tonight between Harrietstown supervisor candidates Bob Bevilacqua and Tom Catillaz.

The newspapers had scheduled the event for 7 p.m. today in the Harrietstown Town Hall, but with Hurricane Sandy expected to bring potentially dangerous wind and rain to the North Country tonight, organizers decided this morning that it would be safer to cancel the event.

The public debate will not be rescheduled. The newspapers will try to arrange a joint interview or non-public debate that could be recorded and shared with the public.

This is the second time this debate has been canceled; the first date, Oct. 16, was dropped when Catillaz temporarily suspended his campaign due to a serious illness in his family.
