To the editor:
I heartily support turning the railroad from Saranac Lake to Tupper Lake (and farther) into a world-class bike path. However, I spoke with a knowledgeable volunteer for a different tourist train, and he said it's quite possible that tearing up the tracks would allow the rail bed to collapse in many places. Has anyone investigated this possibility?
