SARANAC LAKE - Once again, people in this community's churches are leading an effort to raise money to feed people, both here and around the world.
The CROP Hunger Walk is mostly a fundraiser for Church World Service, which works around the world to help those in need help themselves through refugee assistance, self-help development programs, advocacy and disaster relief; however, 25 percent of proceeds go to the Saranac Lake Interfaith Food Pantry.
Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, and the walk starts at 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 57 Church St.

The key to the event is for local people to give generously to the effort. Donations may be made online at www.churchworldservice.org under "Crop Hunger Walk." For more information or to volunteer, contact the First Presbyterian Church, 518-891-3401.
