LAKE PLACID - An exhibition of artworks by Mountain Lake Academy students will open with a free reception for all at the Lake Placid Public Library from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11.

Mountain Lake is a school in Lake Placid for boys with behavioral problems. For the exhibit that debuts today, art instructor Ann Bayruns and her students, aged 12 through 18, brought together projects that include free-form sculptures, drawings, paintings and photography.

The show will remain at the library through Nov. 10.

Food for tonight's reception will be provided by students in the school's culinary arts program, which has catered several events in the Lake Placid area, from weddings to meetings.

"The students are really excited over this opportunity to show people of the community their art works and let them know the kinds of projects we do at the school," Bayruns said in a press release. "We hope that a lot of people take time to drop in."
