SARANAC LAKE - The Beekmantown girls soccer team scored early and never let up Monday on the way to a 4-0 Northern Soccer League victory over Saranac Lake.
Beekmantown got on the board 45 seconds into the game when Kiley Regan's long-range shot found the back of the net. The Eagles scored three more in the second half to seal the win.
"I was proud with the tenacity our girls played with. They never let up," said Saranac Lake coach Amanda Zullo. "Beekmantown is a great passing team; they move the ball well offensively and defensively. We learned a lot from playing them today."
Regan Kieffer played the first half in goal for the Red Storm, before being replaced by Katie Buckley in the second. Each goalkeeper made six saves as Beekmantown held a 20-11 shooting advantage.
Kallie Villemaire, Carlee Casey and Alicia Barcomb accounted for the Eagles' second half goals.
Beekmantown improved to 6-0-2 in league play and 7-0-2 overall with the victory. Saranac Lake is 1-8.
Northeastern Clinton sits atop the Division I standings with a 5-0-1 league mark.

LAKE PLACID - The Lake Placid volleyball team lost three close games Monday as Northeastern Clinton won its first match of the season 25-21, 25-20, 29-27.
Lindsey Howe had eight kills, two digs and two aces and Serina Hayes had three kills and nine assists to lead the Blue Bombers. Brenna Garrett added 11 points, three aces and three kills, Carleigh Garrett had two aces, seven assists and two kills and Taylor Maiorca chipped in five digs.
Brianna McCoy recorded 10 kills and Ellen Reid had 13 serving points, five kills and 10 digs to pace the Cougars.
Lake Placid and Northeastern Clinton both have 1-6 records.
