SARANAC LAKE - Village police are investigating overnight burglaries at a pair of downtown eateries.

Village police Sgt. Bill Cote said Owl's Nest pizza and Blue Moon Cafe, both located a short distance apart on Main Street, were broken into sometime between Monday night and this morning.

"The guys just got called out on it so they're still working on it," Cote said this morning.

Police Chief Bruce Nason said the cash register from the Blue Moon was removed, although he didn't know how much money, if any, it contained. He said the Blue Moon burglary was discovered around 6 a.m. this morning while the Owl's Nest break-in was apparently discovered later.

Nason said he didn't have any additional information because the investigation of both burglaries is just getting started.
