ALBANY (AP) - New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo had planned a photo opportunity in the state's newly acquired plot in the Adirondacks and found himself in a tempest in a frying pan.
The press outing on Sunday at a pond in the Adirondack State Park depicted the Queens native doing what he says he loves to do: Enjoy the mountain wilderness and fishing.
But on Monday Cuomo staved off questions from some reporters about why he didn't wear a life vest and why he caught a trout that appeared to be too small to keep.

Cuomo joked at the inquiries but defended his actions. He noted state law doesn't require him to wear a life vest and that he released the brook trout.
