LAKE PLACID - A local man faces two felony charges after he allegedly broke into someone's apartment and destroyed their property.

Lake Placid village police charged Brian L. Ordway, 28, of Lake Placid, with second-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief at 11:15 a.m. Sunday. Police said he was arrested following an investigation into a residential burglary.

Ordway allegedly entered the apartment of an acquaintance and destroyed and damaged their property. Police said Ordway knows the victim and that the incident "resulted from a personal matter."

Ordway was processed by police, arraigned in village court and released under the supervision of probation. An order of protection was issued to the victim.
