REDFORD - A mother and daughter from the Saranac area were arrested last week following an investigation into an alleged methamphetamine lab.
In a press release issued Wednesday morning, the Adirondack Drug Task Force and New York State Police Troop B Narcotics Enforcement Unit announced that on Sept. 10, police executed a search warrant at the Redford home of 46-year-old Susan J. Filion.
"Information was developed that gave police probable cause to obtain the search warrant which lead to the seizure of methamphetamine manufacturing materials," police said in the release.
Filion was charged with unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine in the third degree, a class D felony. Her daughter, 19-year-old Audrey Filion, was present when the warrant was executed. She was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Police said the investigation is considered ongoing and additional charges could be filed. Susan Filion was remanded to Clinton County Jail without bail; Audrey Filion was ticketed and released to appear in court at a later date.
The Adirondack Drug Task Force includes the federal Drug Enforcement Administration, New York State Police, the Plattsburgh City Police Department, the Clinton County Sheriff's Department, U.S. Border Patrol, Homeland Security Investigations and the Clinton County District Attorney's Office.
