Thanks to community for successful circus

September 17, 2012
Adirondack Daily Enterprise

To the editor:

The Saranac Lake Youth Center extends sincere and heartfelt thanks to all of our community service organizations, businesses, and individuals for their outpouring of support at our fourth annual Labor Day Circus in Riverside Park. We are so grateful to the 34 tweens and teens who worked at the carnival games. They did a terrific job with all of their customers. They are helping to build and support their Youth Center.

We deeply appreciate the presence and support of the service organizations who went the extra mile to sponsor and to donate time and materials that made our event such a success. Special thanks to the Saranac Lake Police Department, the Skateboard Park, Mountain Lake Academy, St. Luke's Church, Taylor Rental's, Mount Pisgah Ski Club, Coakley Ace Hardware Store, the Saranac Lake Rotary Club, Women's Civic Chamber,The Kiwanas Club, Another's Treasures, St. Joseph's Rehabilitation Center, the Rock Shop, Borracho Taco, Price Chopper, Hannaford, the Thomas Shipman Youth Center, WNBZ radio, the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, Joe Kilburn, our DJ, the St. Luke's community with their bake sale, and all those who donated cakes for the Cake Walk and stuffed animals and prizes for the games. Sincere thanks to our clowns, Trillium (Maria DeAngelo), Poofski (Matt Paul) and "Hoo Dee Do" (Scott Eichholz), our M.C. extraordinaire.

We appreciate all the individuals and organizations who have responded to our summer appeal letter. Without your support there would be NO Youth Center in Saranac Lake. The Saranac Lake Youth Center provides a safe, adult-supervised environment to over 100 kids in our community. Our youth center is one of the oldest and longest running centers in America. We are celebrating 30 years of service to the kids in our community this year. We are open year round for students in grades six through 12. School year hours are Monday through Friday from 2:30 to 6 p.m., and summer hours are 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Thank you to everyone who supports us.

Sincerely,

Diane Roberts, executive director
