TUPPER LAKE - The Save-A-Lot supermarket here is not one of the ones being shuttered, its owner says.
Supervalu Inc. said Wednesday that it will close another 60 underperforming stores - including 22 Save-A-Lots in seven states - as it pushes to turn around its struggling business. The grocery store operator, based in Eden Prairie, Minn., said the closures include Albertsons, ACME and Save-A-Lot stores in various states.
But Jeffrey L. Proulx said he does not plan to close his stores in Tupper Lake, Potsdam, Gouverneur and Ogdensburg, and plans to open another in Bath, according to the Watertown Daily Times today.
