A pair of Wilmington residents face felony charges after allegedly being caught with 422 grams (almost a pound) of marijuana.
Ray Brook based state police charged Jacob E. Dahl, 25, with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a class E felony, and a 17-year-old male with one count of the same charge.
Police said the subjects were in a vehicle that was stopped at a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint on state Route 30 in the town of Brighton, near the intersection with Route 458. During a search of the vehicle, police said they found a clear plastic bag containing about 305 grams of marijuana, and another containing approximately 117 grams.
Possession of more than 8 ounces (227 grams) of marijuana is a felony in New York state.
Both subjects were ticketed and released to appear in Brighton town court at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
