SARANAC LAKE - The two men running for town of Harrietstown supervisor, Bob Bevilacqua and Tom Catillaz, made the rounds at a pair of local events this past weekend.
Catillaz, a Democrat who's a village trustee, visited the weekly Saranac Lake farmers market in Riverside Park during Saturday's Farm 2 Fork festival. He later announced that he will ask the town board to allow the market to use the town hall to keep going during the winter.
"The farmers' market is a big attraction and traffic generator for our town," Catillaz said in a prepared statement, "and if we can give its farmers a warmer, centrally-located place in the winter to set up their shops we can keep their momentum going year-round."

Catillaz said he discussed the idea with farmers' market officials during Farm 2 Fork Fest and will draft a letter to the town board, asking for a sit-down session to work out the details.
Meanwhile, Bevilacqua, a Republican town councilman, attended Sunday's Hobofest music festival and was also at Farm 2 Fork. Fellow Republican Matt Doheny, who's running for the congressional seat held by Democrat Bill Owens, stopped by Hobofest, too.
Keith Wells, who said he is managing communications for Bevilacqua's campaign, said the two candidates toured the event together, met with constituents and talked about issues. They also visited the nearby Adirondack Carousel, Wells said.
Catillaz also attended Hobofest, where he announced the band Crackin' Foxy.
