Village plans more business videos

SARANAC LAKE - The village's Community Development Office says it will produce two more business promotion videos in the coming months following the release of its "Downtown Tour" video three weeks ago and a 60-second video last week.

"We will do one video for all the restaurants in the village and follow that up with the businesses that were not included in the first video," Community Development Director Jeremy Evans said in a press release.

Evans is also considering producing either a 30-second or 60-second video for each business. The village plans to use YouTube and Facebook to distribute the videos but will also look for opportunities to have them air on television.

Village businesses interested in participating should contact the Community Development Office at 518-891-4150 ext. 235 or comdev@saranaclakeny.gov. Evans said he is open to suggestions, will answer questions about the process and may hold a meeting with all interested businesses to coordinate production.

The two videos already released were produced with volunteers and and edited using $3,650 in economic development funds. The longer, 30-minute downtown video tour took a year-and-a-half to make.

"We hope to speed up production time this go-around, but we are still relying on volunteers and the availability of funds for editing," Evans said.

Both videos are posted on YouTube and can be accessed from the village's website at www.saranaclakeny.gov.
