To the editor:
On Saturday the 18th and Sunday the 19th, the Saranac Lake Women's Softball League held a scholarship tournament to send one Saranac Lake High School Senior to college with a $500 scholarship.
I'd like to thank all of the teams that participated. It was a great turnout for a first-year event. I'd also like to thank all of the umpires who donated their time, our vendor out of Owls Head, Boyer's Septic, and Mark DeChaise and the Black Fly Association for donating the use of their fields.
Without the help of all of these people, the tournament would not have happened. We hope to continue this tradition in years to come. It was a fun and successful event. We hope to see everyone, and more, again next year! Thanks again to all that helped and supported this great family function!
