Village may restrict parking on Tupper roadway

TUPPER LAKE - The village is looking to restrict parking in the McLaughlin Avenue area, and a hearing has been set for next week on the topic.

The village board wants to make McLaughlin Avenue a no-parking zone on both sides from Park Street to Silver Street. It also wants to close parking on one side of the street - the side toward the lake on the left when going down the steep McLaughlin hill - between Silver Street and Pleasant Avenue.

Village Clerk Mary Casagrain said the idea is to keep the street from getting too congested.

The hearing notice originally had incorrect details about the proposed parking closures. A hearing is set for 5:30 p.m. Monday at the village offices at 53 Park St., but Casagrain said another hearing will have to be set at that time, based on the corrected hearing notice.
