August 16, 2012
Adirondack Daily Enterprise

LAKE PLACID - The Lake Placid Center for the Arts will present the eighth annual "Salute to Arts Day" from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22.

Artists of all media will be on the premises to demonstrate and sell their art or craft. This one-day-only event is presented as part of the LPCA's Green Market Wednesdays Lake Placid Farmers' Market.

The Lake Placid Farmers' Market is a producers-only Market (meaning they don't buy in and re-sell their products). The market is open every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the LPCA grounds.

In addition to the weekly market, join regional guest artisans and vendors as they present their wares for one day only. From paintings and pottery to crochet, silk and knitted items, photography to wood carvings, this day will feature something for everyone.

Throughout the morning a series of kids activities will take place. There will be a meet-n-greet of Adirondack farm animals, kids can have their faces painted, then get creative making chalk designs on the sidewalk and making crafts projects. There will be live music, magic and fun throughout the day!
