SARANAC LAKE - A local man allegedly slashed another person in the neck with a knife during a dispute over a drug deal early this morning.

Village police Chief Bruce Nason said officers were called to a report of a fight in progress outside a Main Street business at 2:20 a.m.

Nason said the victim suffered a six-inch gash and was taken to Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake where the wound was closed with stitches.
