TUPPER LAKE - Flash storms knocked a tree down onto a local home Thursday afternoon.

Heavy winds blew the maple tree onto a home at 26 Park St. owned by Becky Lanthier and Dan Gardner.

Lanthier and her two children were sitting in the living room when the tree fell, according to her stepfather, Tom Fee.

"She said it sounded like unbelievable thunder," Fee told the Enterprise this morning.

No one was injured, and the family is still assessing whether the house sustained any damage, Fee said.

Since the tree was on the other side of the sidewalk, it was up to the village to deal with it. The village Department of Public Works pulled the tree off the house and cleaned it up quickly.

"I can speak for Becky on that," Fee said. "She was really impressed that it was taken care of quickly."

Village and state police in Tupper Lake said there were no other incidents related to the weather.
