SARANAC LAKE - The village of Saranac Lake will host a reception at Riverside Park Wednesday evening to welcome Myriad RBM to its new location, the former village office building at 3 Main St.
The Lake Placid biotech company and its 24 employees are relocating to the downtown facility, which the village has been renovating, and the company plans to add more jobs over the next two to three years.
The theme of the event is "The Good Old Summer Time." Old fashioned ice cream and root beer will be served. The village will also hand out complimentary "boater" flat-top straw hats to its guests. Live music will be provided by the Too Tall String Band.
Tours of the new facility, located across the street from the park, will be conducted during the reception.
Village officials said in a Monday press release that Congressman Bill Owens, Assemblywoman Janet Duprey, Assemblywoman Teresa Sayward, and officials from the Town of Harrietstown and the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce will be in attendance and will speak during the event.
The reception kicks off at 5 p.m. The public is invited to attend. The village asked people to confirm their attendance by contacting the Community Development Office at 518-891-4150 or email@example.com.
