To the editor:
On behalf of the Lake Placid Sinfonietta, a heartfelt thank-you to all who supported the Sinfonietta's summer gala benefit, "High Notes: A Summer Evening Celebration of Music," held July 12 at the Whiteface Club & Resort. This annual event is an integral part of raising the necessary funds to present a successful concert season and keeping the music in the mountains as the Sinfonietta approaches its 100th anniversary.
As with most fundraising benefits, it takes many generous and dedicated individuals and businesses to ensure a success. Grateful thanks and appreciation is extended to our lead underwriters, the Whiteface Club & Resort and the Ughetta family, to the individual patrons who donated in support of the event, to the business patrons: Bear Essentials, Flink Smith LLC, Hyde Fuel, Mirror Lake Inn and NBT Bank, to the many area businesses that supported the auction, and to the many individuals who joined us for a delightful evening of fine food, spirits and friendship. Thank you also to everyone who purchased a raffle ticket for the summer shopping spree, which was won by Judith Landes.
Special thanks and recognition to our master of ceremony, Ted Blazer, who lent his auctioneering expertise to the live auction; to Cynthia Reinmann, the decorations chair whose artistic talents truly turned the Whiteface Club & Resort into a visual celebration of music; to Carolyn Cook for organizing a superb silent and live auction; to Ann, Hannah and Naomi Harrow for providing lovely music during the cocktail reception; to the staff of the Whiteface Club & Resort for their assistance in planning and setting up the event and for preparing a delicious dinner; and to the Sinfonietta's staff, Deb Fitts and Gay McMullen, for their skillful and patient work in guiding me through the process of coordinating this event.
In grateful appreciation,
Cheryl Breen Randall
